Luxury self catering accommodation in Stornoway on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis.
Solas is a beautiful 1930s Art Deco house, which is now available for self-catering holiday accommodation. It was built the same year as Edward VIII abdicated to marry the infamous Wallis Simpson and reflects the elegance and simplicity of the period.
Solas is Gaelic for comfort or solace and, as the name implies, the accommodation provides you with a very high level of comfort and quality that we are sure you will appreciate!
The house offers a central location which is ideal for sight seeing. It is only 5 minutes walk downtown and it is within walking distance of the ferry terminal and the harbour. Take the opportunity to take one of the stunning walks round the Castle Grounds where you will see over 100 different species of trees, Herons flying overhead (this is the only place where herons nest in trees) and enjoy the river, the moor and the grounds. At any time of the year affording you fresh air and spectacular scenery. Why not take a picnic and make it a day worth remembering!
Why not relax on the chaise longue and listen to your favourite music or lie back with a good book while your dinner is cooking slowly in the kitchen! There is a good selection of dishes and pans and cookery books for the keen cook!
Come and enjoy a stay in our luxurious self catering holiday home in Stornoway.
